OVERVIEW

The round table discussion serves to illuminate the unspoken & much shied away issues surrounding sexual protection among children and adolescents. The discussion would introduce case studies and training materials. This interactive discussion is targeted towards doctors, paediatricians, social workers, rehab physicians, occupational therapists, and NGOs working in the field of sexual protection in children & adolescents.

BIO-PROFILE OF SPEAKER

Dato’ Dr. Amar-Singh is an exceptional man who has dedicated his life to working with persons with disabilities. He is the senior consultant, community paediatrician and head of the paediatric department of the Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun, Ipoh and the head of the Clinical Research Centre in Perak state.

Dato’ Dr. Amar-Singh’s has initiated and developed registered associations for people with disabilities including the National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC), the Association of the Network for the Needs of Children with Disabilities, and Pertubuham Ibu Bapa Kanak-Kanak Keperluan Istimewa Sarawak. He has also initiated informal family support groups for various disabilities including Cerebral Palsy, Down’s Syndrome and Autism Spectrum Disorder. Dato’ Dr. Amar also actively conducts training workshops in adolescent rights and sexual protection in the country.
